I've had Norton 360 version 3 running on my Windows Vista laptop for 10 months now. The protect it offers is good. I particularly like the ticks and crosses it puts on website links to show a site's security before you click. The system updates virus definitions every few minutes, unlike some products which wait for a week and then download one huge virus definitions file in one go. The PC tuneup system is also good at deleting temporary files. I'm impressed at how quietly and efficiently Norton 360 runs in the background. Previous versions of Norton have seemed to have a much larger impact on system speed. Norton 360 just keeps running in the background, whilst allowing you to get on with what you need to do. The product didn't get five stars as I found the online "Backup" system annoying and eventually disabled it. The size of files it wanted to upload to online storage were huge, resulting in long (and slow) upload times. If you want a virus checker and online security system, Norton 360 is great. If you want online backup, then this probably isn't the product for you.

You may think the title of this review reactionary, so let me explain. The name and marketing of the product would lead you to believe that the product takes care of everything for you from safety and security online to backing up all your important data, without you doing much if anything at all. This couldn't be further from the truth. From misleading messages indicating your data is safely backed up when it is not, to the most painfully slow access to the promised online storage (it's a bit like accessing High Quality video over a dialup connection!). Steer clear and save yourself a LOT of time wasted.

An excellent product - easy to use and does not interfere with processing when working as other products do.

I have used Symantec products (Norton Internet Security before 360)for many years and have never had a problem with a virus or any other attack. As a full time IT consultant (fancy name for sorting out computers in peoples homes) for five years, the only product that seemed to give complete protection was NIS. A virus scan by NIS on several occasions found problems that the well known 'freebee' product had not spotted. Not the cheapest, but I think certainly the best protection, especially if you bank online and use the identity safe.

I bought this because my 360 and my hdtv didn't have any slots for other kensington locks. Feels really secure and I would recommend this for that use.
