This is a cheap and functional clock radio; it is good value for money. However it does not 'set the time'. The time is set at the factory and the clock runs on a battery (just like a digital watch) until you plug the thing into the mains. The problem with this is that the time may be (and was in our case) inaccurate by a few minutes - not good if you try to listen to the 7 o'clock news at 7:03. Thus, if the correct time is important to you, you need to set the time yourself. The alternative (product-wise) is for the clock to set itself using the radio signal, which is always accurate; this is what I thought we were buying, albeit at a very good price.

Was looking for a easy to use clock radio at a good price and after several disasters saw this in Homebase, googled it for reviews and found it for half the price. Does everything it says on the box, very easy to use, and quick and easy to change alarm times if needed.If you dont need to just leave it alone and will not let you down the following morning. Also I have found with a lot of them that the clock is far too bright when you wake up in the middle of the night, this one is not.Brilliant value and so far very reliable. Would buy another.

Excellent product so easy to set up it does everything for you but then what would you expect from Sony

Great product, glad i bought it. like the fact the radio alarm turns itself off after an hour. You can alter the volume which is good too. it gets me out of bed in the morning without annoying me which i consider to be a great success with my reputation for not getting up in the morning.

I bought this for my 12 year old Daughter who was terrible at getting up in the morning. It is just perfect as the numbers are large and bright, easy to see in a dark room. Just plug it in and the time sets itself. Very easy to set the alarm without needing instructions. Excellent value!

I bought this for my 17 year old daughter who likes to listen to radio one in the bath, where it's not practical to be wired up to an MP3. Unfortunately after only it's second sailing it became waterlogged and wouldn't work. I'm currently trying to dry it out in the hope that it'll work on dry land. Cute but deffinitely not water proof.

Robust, good sound quality, good signal, doesn't mind a good dunking now and again. A good alternative to elecrocuting yourself with your portable stereo.
